SOLD!

We decided to put our house on the market about a week ago to try and take advantage of the historic low interest rates that are available now. We had it on the market for seven days when we received our first offer! We are blessed to say the least. The race is on now to find a new home- and by the end of January too! We may not have a home by the end of January, and we're okay with that. If we have to set up camp in an apartment or extended stay until we find a home we like, we'll do it. We're thinking about Cedar Park or Leander area right now. Maybe Georgetown- I think that the commute back and forth from work would really start to wear on Jaime though. We also have a pretty tall order as to what we're looking for in a new home- hey why not?-we're going to be living there for quite a long time! I know that I will be a little sad when we're all packed up and ready to move out. This was our very first home- and we really do love it. If we can find one like it but bigger, we'll be very happy. We'll keep you posted!

New Camera!

Jaime came home yesterday with a new camera for my Christmas gift-I know it is early but he wanted to give it to me so that I can snap some pictures this weekend when we celebrate Christmas with his parents. We'll be in New Mexico for Christmas this year so that's why we're celebrating early here in Austin. I've been wanting a good camera since before Quinn was here and am so excited that I finally have one to capture all of her fun little moments! I had so much fun playing around with it today and here's a look at what my little model gave me...

Baby It's Cold Outside...

Brrrrr.... It has been pretty darn cold and wet here in Austin lately. Although Jaime and I are used to much colder temps and snow, being that we're from NewMexico, we're freezing our hineys off here! We got some light snow on Friday that really only lasted about 30 mintues and didn't even stick. Here is Quinn as we were headed to the grocery store that day. She kept staring at her mittens- I think she was trying to figure out where her fingers went!

Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree...

Ok, so I realize that it is still Thanksgiving Day, but I just could not wait to begin our Christmas festivities! We actually put our tree and other decorations up last weekend- you can never be too ready for the best holiday of the year! And since Quinn is not quite crawling yet, this might be one of the only times that our tree will be fully in tact.

We did have a wonderful Thanksgiving, Jaime's parents were here andwe had a plethora of food, really. Jaime fried our Turkey in peanut oil-soooo yummy. Between Mrs. Pina and I, we made stuffing, cream cheese and chive mashed potatoes, broccoli casserole, sweet potatoes, cranberry dressing, salad, bread rolls, pumpkin pie, apple pie bites, cherry pie bites. Yikes! I'm tired just thinking about it all. Quinn had such a blast playing and talking with her Papa James and Mama Rose. I told Jaime that she forgot all about us and was putting on a show for her Grandparents. She was hilarious!

We're so excited to have our first Christmas with Quinn. I have lots of sewing to do, but love it. Petite Pineapples is really taking off which is so exciting, and keeping me quite busy. I might need to hire a nanny to help with Quinn- only kidding.

Hope you all had a fantastic Thanksgiving! :)

Everyday is Something New

I haven't blogged about Quinn's milestones lately, and it seems as though there are so many now! Here are some of the things she is now able to do (the first on the list is THE most exciting for me):

-says "mamamama"
-says "bababababa"
-says "dadadadada"
-sits up without assistance and plays independently
-rolls from stomach to back and vice versa
-pushes up on hands and knees and rocks back and forth
-drinks water from a straw - I usually drop a couple drops in her mouth from the straw
-drinks water from a small cup- this one is still a little messy
-eats some solid foods -we've tried sweet potatoes, applesauce, and bananas
-is very social and smiles at anyone who will give her attention
-claps her hands
-giggles

Quinn is growing like a little weed now too. Jaime and I were looking at some videos and pictures we've taken over the past seven months and just can't believe how much she has grown and changed! She is still our little princess and we just love to see what each new day will bring with her. :)

Giggles and Sweet Potatoes

We've been giving Quinn pureed vegetables lately and tonight she was eating sweet potatoes. She was also very giggly and was laughing at every little funny sound I was making!

6 Month Photo Shoot

Quinn had her 6 month photo shoot this Monday- still can't believe she's already six months. She's actually 6 1/2 months now! She did fantastic and had fun getting her picture taken a bunch of times! The new photo I placed at the top of the blog is from her session. I'm sure I've already mentioned this before, but a parent of one of my students from last year has been taking Quinn's photos and we just absolutely love her work. To see more visit: www.briannafoulds.com

I've placed several of her other photos on my Petite Pineapples blog: www.petitepineapples.blogspot.com

I can tell this is going to be a busy holiday season for Petite Pineapples! I put up the photos of the new Holiday set yesterday, and I already have 6 orders to sew!

This weekend we have a birthday party for a friend of Quinn's from our playgroup. We can't wait! I'll post pics as soon as we get them. :)

Happy Halloween!!

Do you want to hear a funny story? I bought Quinn a ladybug costume at the "Mama Cents" baby consignment sale in September. Yesterday when we put the costume on, Jaime noticed that the ear holes were real high up on Quinn's head. We also noticed that the arm holes on the suit were real far down. Here's the funny part- it's a dog's costume!! So whoever took the ladybug suit to consign at the sale, brought their dog's costume! And of course I was the silly person that didn't put two and two together and bought it! We still thought Quinn looked real cute in it anyway. We'll just have one funny story to tell her when she grows up!

We went to a Halloween party that one of Quinn's friends from our playgroup had. It was a great time! Quinn had a ball looking at all of the other babies in their costumes.

Happy 1/2 year Birthday Quinn!!

Yesterday was Quinn's 1/2 year birthday, she is now 6 months old! We bought her a little toy to celebrate and wrapped it up with tissue paper. She loved playing with the tissue and tearing it open. I think she liked the tissue more than the actual toy!

Halloween Preview

I picked up this cute little ladybug costume while I was at the "Mama Cents" consignment sale in September for $5! We tried it on today and I couldn't resist taking a picture of Quinn in it! We will be sure to post pics of the complete costume (black leggings and a ladybug onesie) after Halloween. We're going to a Halloween party that one of her little friends from our playgroup is having, can't wait!

Quinn is 6 months old!!

Happy 1/2 year birthday to Quinn! I CANNOT believe she is already 6 months, it feels like yesterday we were in the hospital with an itty bitty new born! We had her 6 month check up- a little different than normal this time because Quinn tested positive for H1N1 over the weekend. :( She left the appointment today with a clean bill of health-Tamiflu is a lifesaver! Now that we're going to be adding more solid foods to her diet, we picked up a high chair on our way home.

Now, does this look like a girl who has the flu? You never would've known it just looking at her, she even had a smiling face the day she tested positive at the Pediatrician's office!

This weekend my sister and her family were also here visiting. We made it out to Sea World on Friday (the day before we found out Quinn was sick). We had a great time and so did all of the kiddos. Although it was a bummer that Quinn was sick and couldn't play with the kids as much as we would've wanted, it was great to have them here with us.

The Latest

Quinn is now rolling over from stomach to back and back to stomach! She can also sit alone in her boppy pillow! She is now grabbing EVERYTHING in sight! Mommy and Daddy can no longer eat dinner with her in our laps- Jaime's plate almost bit the dust the other night after Quinn tugged on it. Here's some pics of her in action:

Proof that she'll grab anything in arms length- even my camera. :)

Mama Cents!

Oh my! Last night Jaime's cousin, Roxanne and I went to the mecca of all consignment sales in Austin. It is called Mama Cents and I believe is held once a year. Anything you can think of relative to being a mother and having children you can find there. Roxanne actually had some tickets to shop before the sale starts (which I believe is today) so we really got the pick of the litter! We showed up at 7:30 with empty strollers (we used our strollers as shopping carts!) and tote bags and shopped until it closed at 10:30! I bought a really cool foldable gate that will keep Quinn away from our stone fireplace and will also fold out to a big rectangular play area. We purchased some great clothing- Gymboree, Baby Gap, Children's Place to name a few. I believe I also bought enough toys to take us through her teen years- just kidding, enough to last a while though! My favorite purchase is her Halloween costume. I was planning on making one but when I saw the cute little ladybug for $5.00 I couldn't pass it up. There is no way that I'd even be able to purchase the fabric for that much! I'll have to post a pic of her wearing it soon-too cute! I got home last night at 11:00 to find Jaime and Quinn sound asleep. :)

Grandma and Papa came to visit!

We had such a great weekend- Grandma Juanita and Papa Gene came to visit from New Mexico! On Friday Grandma, Quinn and I went to the gym. Quinn played with her friends in the childcare center and my Mom and I went to a Yoga class. It was my Mom's first class- she enjoyed it so much that she said she is going to join a class when she gets home! We had a great time walking around the Domain with Quinn on Saturday. We even ate sushi at Kona Grill for lunch! Quinn loved sitting outside with all of us. That evening Quinn was able to spend time with all four of her grandparents while we watched the UT game and ate some yummy barbecued burgers. Sunday the guys went golfing and we held the fort down at home. That afternoon we went to eat some yummy seafood at Joe's Crab Shack. Quinn loved watching all of the flashing lights and crazy servers dancing around. Today was a very relaxing day at home. We had plenty of play time with Grandma and Papa before they headed to the airport. The weekend was packed with fun and we can't wait until Novemeber to see Grandma Juanita and Papa Gene again!!

Baby Blue

"How did she get blue eyes?", you might ask. We thought the same thing when Quinn was born. But rest assure, there is no milkman involved in her eye color. Jaime has many family members on his mother's side that have blue eyes and I have several family members on my dad's side that have blue eyes as well. Two recessive genes resulted in the brilliant baby blue eyes.

Brianna Foulds shot these amazing photos. Check it out www.briannafoulds.com.

Life is Good!!

I have never felt more blessed and truly blissful in my life. Being home with Quinn is more than a blessing, it is the best gift that our little family of three could have ever been given. Although I did love my job, there is nothing on earth that I would love more than raising Quinn and being here for her every smile, giggle, cry, meal, bath etc... I really do feel that our family unit is so peaceful now too! I think back to my working days and remember how busy and stressed I was and realize that the mommy Quinn deserves to have is the less stressed and tired version. As mundane as this may sound, I love our Monday morning trip to the grocery store- and I'm really sure Jaime loves not having to go to the grocery store on the weekends anymore too! I love 12:00 pm when Jaime can come home to lunch with us. I love 6:00 pm when Jaime comes home and we can sit down to a nice meal, all of us. Would I be able to do any of this while working? Probably not. This is not to downplay the moms who work, I commend you too! I just know that personally speaking, I would have a very difficult time doing both. So on the days that I'm wishing upon a star that I could have some glamorous lifestyle, I look around and realize that what I have is so much more special and treasured.

Quinn loves to be held by Papa James and loves Mama Rose's singing!

Quinn is gonna miss Uncle Adan so much, he's moving to New York!

Such a Daddy's girl!

Too kissable!!

The light of our eyes!

Wrapping up August

What a summer we have had! It has been so fun watching Quinn grow and develop, we just can't believe how much she has changed! Now that school has started up again and all of the kiddies are back to the books, we've had lots of fun going out during the day. We've gone to the pool several times and have been the only ones there, so fun! We've gone to the gym so Mommy can hit the weights and Quinn can play with other babies her age. I am just treasuring every single moment I have with Quinn and am so thankful that I am able to be here with her as she reaches all of her milestones. She is now rolling over, giggling up a storm, jumping up and down in her new jumpy seat, and pushing up on her tummy. Here is just a glimpse at Q in action now that she's four months.

Q loves bath time! Especially when Mommy pours warm water on her head!

Jumping is so fun!

All that fun can be very tiring!

Mrs. Giggles

Quinn surprised us this evening with the giggles! Up until now we've heard her chuckle but not laugh out loud like this. She had us rolling on the floor, so funny!

Our Little Squealer

A couple days ago, Quinn learned how to squeal and has been doing it since! She squeals while she's playing, getting her diaper changed, waking up from a nap, and basically any other time she is happy or thinks something is funny. She's such a riot!

Take Me Out to the Ballgame...

We attended our first Round Rock Express baseball game last night with baby! We are so lucky to have such great friends, Beau, Jennie, and Merritt, who invited us to hang out with them in their sky box for the game. I can't think of a better way to enjoy a baseball game! Quinn had a great time watching all of the people and just soaking in all of the action.
