Maternity Pictures

So way back when, a friend of mine, Jen McD :), told me about a workshop being held in town for photographers who were going to being shooting photos and needed maternity models.  Pinkle Toes Photography hosted this workshop and is like one of the best in town.  In exchange for being a model, I received digital files of the photographs taken!  Amazing opportunity!  So I jumped on it!   The shoot was back in July, the same day we flew back in town from our family reunion in Albuquerque.  It was really a great time, even despite the 100+ degree weather, and I'm so very thankful to have some photos of the the little man before he is even here.

Weekend of fun!

Now that we're getting closer to the end of the pregnancy, we're trying to do as much as we can with Quinn while we still only have one child. I can't even begin to imagine what life is going to be like with two little ones in tow, but just like I couldn't imagine what life would be like with one baby, we will adjust just fine. I know Quinn is getting so excited about baby "Doshua"'s arrival but sometimes I worry if she will be getting enough attention as she is literally front and center of everything we do now. We will just see how it goes day by day!

Anyway, here are a couple of pictures of our weekend fun.

This girl has a serious addiction to chocolate!
At the Quarry Splash Park on Sunday morning.  This place is amazing but our little cautious lady takes a while to warm up to the splashes and squirts.

Classic Quinn- trying to avoid the squirt!

This slide is more up her alley!

Squirting Dad is always more fun than getting wet yourself!

Tower time!  She so impressed that the tower was bigger than she is!

These little family moments make my heart so warm.  I love being a mother and feel so incredibly blessed to have such a happy and healthy family.  I just wish I could take these little moments and bottle them up forever.  Just looking at these pictures makes me sigh at how big Quinn is getting and how much she has grown and developed over the past two years.  Things really DO go by so quickly when you have children.

Hope everyone had a fantastic weekend!

Joshua's Room Part 2 (Sort of)

We're getting there! Here are a few pictures of what we have so far (minus a picture of the curtains, my camera battery died right when I was taking it. I'll post a pic of those soon).

This picture makes it hard to see what is going on here in the crib: PB whale sheets, PB white and navy bumper,  and a navy blue and white gingham bed skirt that I made last week.

The curtains I made are long white panels with a very thick strip of the navy and white gingham on the bottom.  We're still lacking a floor lamp and more wall decorations.  6 more weeks- do you think I can get it done?!?

I'm now 33 weeks, 1 day and the little man is the size of a pineapple now (19 to 22 inches and about 5 lbs.).  The closer we get, the more anxiety I get about having two little ones.  It sure does help having friends who are in the same situation or who will be soon.

Off to take a nap...

Baby Joshua's Room Part 1

Last weekend we finally started working on Joshua's room!  Its about time, right?  Only 8 weeks left until the little man is here and I'm now just starting to turn it into high gear.  So far we have the room painted, furniture is assembled, I finished the curtains, and I've purchased shelving, storage baskets, bedding, and some decor.  This weekend I'm hoping to be able to make the bed skirt and then things will really start to look more together.  Here are some pictures of phase one:

Daddy, Quinn, and of course baby, get things started.

I guess Jaime was getting a little hot here?  Quinn is wearing his shirt- reminds me of the movie ET!

Tada!  Paint is done!  It is a very light grey with a touch of light blue.  I love it!

And of course she had to make a house out of the crib box.  This time she called it her garage and had lots of fun with her animals and flashlight in it.
In other news, I am now 32 weeks!  Where has the time gone with this pregnancy???  I felt like I was pregnant FOREVER with Quinn and with this one things have just flown by.  I guess time really does go quicker when you have kids.  Everything seems to be looking great with Joshua, although we did have a teensy hiccup a couple weeks ago when I failed my glucose test.  I had to go back to be re-tested just to make sure I haven't developed gestational diabetes and everything looked fine on my re-test.  Each time my doctor measures my belly he says "textbook" as far as size so I think we will probably have another average sized baby like Quinn- which I am completely fine with.  Quinn is also taking more and more about baby "Doshua", as she calls him, and I'm just so anxious to see how she will interact with him once he's here.

And please-- when will the summer heat let up?!?  I'm so glad I decided to be very pregnant during the hottest summer in Austin's history!  Ack!
