Instagram

Well I'm trying to keep with the times and  now have an Instagram account.  I've enjoyed playing around with the different settings and finishes you can add to your photos and love that I can do it all from my phone.  Here are the pictures I took this week:

This is one of my favorite photos of all time, a picture really tells a thousand words.  Quinn loves to see Jaime off on his runs and this photo really captures the moment.  Wish I could have this moment forever!

The Dog Days of Summer

In the thick of the July heat in Texas it can be difficult to keep two kiddos entertained, but we're managing just fine.

Quinn, Joshua and I went to a free kids movie at the Alamo Drafthouse.  Quinn was pumped to watch Happy Feet on the big screen and sat perfectly still for the entire show.  Joshua on the other hand was more interested in dumping the popcorn out, pushing the seats up and down, spilling Quinn's ketchup, and well you get the picture.  Boys will be boys!!

One morning this week I got up to go work out at 5:30 and noticed one of my tires was flat down to the rim.  So that day the kids and I had to get creative at home since we couldn't drive anywhere.  We stayed busy painting, playing with play-doh, decorating visors, swimming, and having movie night.

Meet "Red and Blue"

Quinn has been wanting a fish for a while now so she spent the last few weeks doing some chores around he house to earn money for one.  She was beyond excited to go pick her fish up from the pet store whom she named Red and Blue.  This picture really says a million words:

Trip to New Mexico

In the beginning of July we drove (you heard that right, yikes!) to New Mexico to escape the sweltering Texas heat and enjoy the coolness of the Angel Fire mountains.  Every two years my family has a reunion up there and we have yet to miss one. It is great to be around everyone and this year the kids had an absolute blast running free in the mountains.

We broke up our drive in two days and spent one night in Lubbock.  I was so excited when we saw a restaurant that I miss so much from New Mexico which is now also in Lubbock, Dion's, so naturally we had to eat there.  Here the kids are sporting their Dion's shirts

The next day we woke up an drove the rest of the way.  Here are our little snoozers:  We took Joshua's shirt off because he spilled something all over it and Quinn wanted to do the same:

Angel Fire is so peaceful and beautiful.  I snapped a photo of the scenery on one of my runs:

My dad, brother and Jaime built the kids a fort out of some logs next to our cabin:

Quinn and Joshua were so excited when their cousins Andrew and Olivia arrived.  Quinn stuck like glue to Olivia, it was cute!  Here the girls are ready for the 4th of July after spa time in the shower:

Joshua stuck to my brother, Uncle Eric.  It was the sweetest thing!

I didn't get too many photos of the actual reunion as you can imagine how busy I was trying to keep Joshua from wondering off in the wilderness or jumping off a pile of logs!  It was a fantastic time and we're already looking forward to the next one...
