Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree...

Ok, so I realize that it is still Thanksgiving Day, but I just could not wait to begin our Christmas festivities! We actually put our tree and other decorations up last weekend- you can never be too ready for the best holiday of the year! And since Quinn is not quite crawling yet, this might be one of the only times that our tree will be fully in tact.

We did have a wonderful Thanksgiving, Jaime's parents were here andwe had a plethora of food, really. Jaime fried our Turkey in peanut oil-soooo yummy. Between Mrs. Pina and I, we made stuffing, cream cheese and chive mashed potatoes, broccoli casserole, sweet potatoes, cranberry dressing, salad, bread rolls, pumpkin pie, apple pie bites, cherry pie bites. Yikes! I'm tired just thinking about it all. Quinn had such a blast playing and talking with her Papa James and Mama Rose. I told Jaime that she forgot all about us and was putting on a show for her Grandparents. She was hilarious!

We're so excited to have our first Christmas with Quinn. I have lots of sewing to do, but love it. Petite Pineapples is really taking off which is so exciting, and keeping me quite busy. I might need to hire a nanny to help with Quinn- only kidding.

Hope you all had a fantastic Thanksgiving! :)

Everyday is Something New

I haven't blogged about Quinn's milestones lately, and it seems as though there are so many now! Here are some of the things she is now able to do (the first on the list is THE most exciting for me):

-says "mamamama"
-says "bababababa"
-says "dadadadada"
-sits up without assistance and plays independently
-rolls from stomach to back and vice versa
-pushes up on hands and knees and rocks back and forth
-drinks water from a straw - I usually drop a couple drops in her mouth from the straw
-drinks water from a small cup- this one is still a little messy
-eats some solid foods -we've tried sweet potatoes, applesauce, and bananas
-is very social and smiles at anyone who will give her attention
-claps her hands
-giggles

Quinn is growing like a little weed now too. Jaime and I were looking at some videos and pictures we've taken over the past seven months and just can't believe how much she has grown and changed! She is still our little princess and we just love to see what each new day will bring with her. :)

Giggles and Sweet Potatoes

We've been giving Quinn pureed vegetables lately and tonight she was eating sweet potatoes. She was also very giggly and was laughing at every little funny sound I was making!

6 Month Photo Shoot

Quinn had her 6 month photo shoot this Monday- still can't believe she's already six months. She's actually 6 1/2 months now! She did fantastic and had fun getting her picture taken a bunch of times! The new photo I placed at the top of the blog is from her session. I'm sure I've already mentioned this before, but a parent of one of my students from last year has been taking Quinn's photos and we just absolutely love her work. To see more visit: www.briannafoulds.com

I've placed several of her other photos on my Petite Pineapples blog: www.petitepineapples.blogspot.com

I can tell this is going to be a busy holiday season for Petite Pineapples! I put up the photos of the new Holiday set yesterday, and I already have 6 orders to sew!

This weekend we have a birthday party for a friend of Quinn's from our playgroup. We can't wait! I'll post pics as soon as we get them. :)

Happy Halloween!!

Do you want to hear a funny story? I bought Quinn a ladybug costume at the "Mama Cents" baby consignment sale in September. Yesterday when we put the costume on, Jaime noticed that the ear holes were real high up on Quinn's head. We also noticed that the arm holes on the suit were real far down. Here's the funny part- it's a dog's costume!! So whoever took the ladybug suit to consign at the sale, brought their dog's costume! And of course I was the silly person that didn't put two and two together and bought it! We still thought Quinn looked real cute in it anyway. We'll just have one funny story to tell her when she grows up!

We went to a Halloween party that one of Quinn's friends from our playgroup had. It was a great time! Quinn had a ball looking at all of the other babies in their costumes.
