Happy Halloween!!

Quinn was feeling much better today! Yay! We were able to do a little trick-or-treating around the block with Mama Rose and Papa James. She was a little unsure about what we were doing at the first couple of houses, but by the end she was holding her bag out for treats at every door. After going to a couple homes, we went home and passed out candy. This may have been more fun for Quinn then the actual trick-or-treating was! She would get so excited every time the door bell would ring and run to the door yelling "kids!!". She loved putting candy in every body's buckets. It was a great night!

Stomach Flu = Boo :(

Quinn came down with a little tummy bug and has been feeling a little down today. We were all dressed and ready to go to a Halloween party at one of her playgroup friends' house when she got sick. I felt so bad for her as I was giving her a bath- mostly because she was really sad we didn't go to the party. She was crying and saying "Ayden, Leah, party!". Those are a couple of her little buddies that she was so excited to see this morning.

But on the bright side, we did get a chance to put on her pumpkin costume on Thursday morning for a Fall Festival in Round Rock. Since Quinn is obsessed with every pumpkin we see, I thought it would be fun for her to be one! Here are a few pictures from Thursday morning:
Ayden and Quinn
She didn't really get the idea of putting a treat in her basket. She looked bewildered when someone would hand her a treat. It was really cute!
Cutest things! Leah from our playgroup was this adorable giraffe! Hugs. :)

Hopefully by Sunday (Halloween) Quinn will be feeling better and may be able to go to a couple of houses to get some treats. Good thing she doesn't know what is inside the candy wrappers, yet.

Seasons Greeting Cards!

As a stay at home mom, I'm always looking for great deals and "do it yourselfers". If this is not a deal, then I don't know what is?! Shutterfly is offering 50 free, I said it, FREE holiday cards to you if you write a blog post about them!

I can attest, I am a true lover as I've created cards for Quinn's birth announcement and our 2009 Christmas card with Shutterfly. I was very impressed with how super easy it was to add your own photos and wording to the already adorable cards they offer. And I've looked, there are tons of choices!! To see all of the choices for holiday cards and more visit: http://www.shutterfly.com/cards-stationery

Here are just a few of the cards that caught my attention while looking:

I love this large photo. So simple and clean.

I thought this one was way cool as you can put a picture in for each month of the year! This is great for us moms with babies- they grow so quickly!

I'm loving collages too!

Yesterday we went to the Fall Festival at the YMCA and had tons of fun! Quinn had a blast petting bunnies and goats (yes, she'll pet a goat but is terrified of little puppies), riding on a pony, and taking a ride on the little mini train. We're really enjoying being members of the YMCA and are loving all of the events for families. It was so fun!

Don't you love her expression here? She is doing her "funny" face here.

18 Months

Simply can't believe we are already half way to two years old! Quinn is definitely not a baby anymore and has grown into a full fledged toddler. Her personality has really started to shine through as a happy, talkative, strong-willed, little lady.

Here are some of the things she is doing as an 18 month toddler:

-Stringing 3 to 4 words together: "Daddy go work", "Babies in there"

-Singing. Her new favorite song is Poker Face by Lady Gaga. It is so funny to hear her sing it! She also likes singing the ABC's (out of order), The Itsy Bitsy Spider, and Just Imagine by Barney.

-She has two very special lovies, oops now three. Her baby who she used to call 'Noe', now just called 'Baby', her blanket, and her doggie. She played with her cousin Olivia's doggie so much while we were in Phoenix that Olivia gave it to her, now doggie goes everywhere with us.

-Eats almost everything. Her favorite things to eat are: macaroni and cheese which she calls "macani trees", hot dogs, grapes, chicken, and spaghetti.

-Weighs 21 lbs. and is in the 10th percentile for weight. If you knew Jaime and I as children, this would all make sense to you- we were both string beans too. She is in the 60th percentile for height and head circumference in in the 95th. A big head to hold all of those smarty brain cells!

-Sleeps very well still. She will walk to her crib when it is time for nap or bed and will ask me to put her blanket on and close the door. Usually talks or sings herself to sleep.

-Very social. Still says hi to every person or dog that crosses our path. Must get that social gene from her Daddy!

Everyday is better than the last with our Curly Q and we just wouldn't know what we'd do without her!

Pumpkin Patch Play Date

We are back from a fun filled week in Phoenix visiting my sister and her family. Quinn had a BLAST playing with her cousins Andrew and Olivia and enjoyed all of the extra attention they gave her! In my packing frenzy before the trip, I forgot to pack the camera! So Andrea, if you are reading this, feel free to e-mail some of those pics I took on your camera! :)

This morning we went back to the YMCA to have some fun in the pumpkin patch and play on the playground. Quinn could care less about the pumpkins this time and was having much more fun with the wagons. Getting a picture of her amidst the pumpkins was a lot more difficult this year than it was last--she's running now and has her own agenda. My picture-taking agenda has taken a back seat. Here are some photos of Curly Q in action:

Can you tell we are ready for fall??? It is still about 90 degrees here and we just can't wait for some cooler weather. We had a little mini fashion show this morning to model our new hat! A good friend of mine hand makes these!! Check out her new buisness: www.daisydoodlecrochet.com. She is amazing!

Some from "Gamma's" visit

We have had a great time with "Gamma"! So far we have taken Quinn to get her first haircut, played at the playground, picked some pumpkins at the pumpkin patch, and had tons of fun here at home! Every morning Quinn has woke up asking "Gamma doing?" and keeps saying "Gamma come on" wherever we go. It has been such a great having her here! Three more days of fun with Grandma are in store for us!

A little unsure of the lady with the scissors here.
All is well once the animal crackers came out!

Looking at herself in the mirror!

Loves sitting with "Gamma" in the mornings.

Off to pick some "punkins".

Here it is!
