Quinn's First Photo Shoot!

We were so blessed to have had Quinn's first photo session done today by a parent of one of the students in my class. She is just so talented and we could not have been more pleased! Especially since Quinn was a tad bit fussy, we were so happy so see the pictures turn out as well as they did.

Quinn is here!!

After four long days of labor, yes four, Quinn Marie Pina entered our world on April 20, 2009! She came out a whopping 7 lbs. and 13 oz. and measuring 21 inches long. Jaime and I have never been so in love with anything in our lives and are happy to be a family of three now. We are also so thankful that Quinn's Grandma has been able to be here with us, she is a life saver!! Below are some pics I've been able to upload. More will be on the way, for now I think I'll take a nap while I can. :)

"Waitin' on a Woman"

I had my 39 week appointment yesterday to find out that lady Quinn is showing no signs of any departure. Since I still have not had any signs of her making her grand entrance into the world, we set a date to induce which will be April 29. This is actually a week after my April 22 due date. If she does not decide to arrive before this, I'll go in on April 30 in the evening and then start an IV of Potossin (sp?) the next morning at 4. Potossin will begin contractions and roughly three hours later we should be able to finally meet the one who already has complete control of us. After the appointment, Jaime said that this reminds him of the Brad Paisley song "Waitin' on a Woman". Although I just cannot wait for her to be here and would like more than anything to be able to have her here with us now, I want her to come when she is ready. Stay tuned for further developments! :)

Showered with Love!

Today was the last of three showers that were given to baby Quinn. Jaime and I just feel so blessed to have such great family, friends, and students that care so much about us!

The first shower I had was given to us by the students and parents in my classroom. They made the cutest little book of baby advice for me. One that really stood out was "Never sneeze on the baby so that she won't get a pink eye." Another really funny one was "Never give your baby choking objects." First graders really do know what they're talking about! Sadly, I forgot my camera that day so I don't have any pictures to post of that.

The second shower was given to us by Jaime's cousin, Roxanne. She was so sweet to have so many fun little activities for us to do. My favorite was the lullabies that everyone wrote for me to sing to Quinn. I even got a chance to practice singing them on the spot! Again, forgetful me forgot my camera so I don't have pics of that shower to post either! I better get it together in the remembering department, we sure don't want to miss any of Quinn's priceless moments due to my forgetfulness!

The shower today was given to us by the First Grade team at school. They had the cutest little theme going on- Spring Chickens were everywhere! It was so fun to sit and chat with all of the other experienced mothers who had plenty of advice and funny stories to share!

It has been great getting ready for little Quinn to make her arrival. Thank you to all who have helped make it extra special! :)
