Kiddie Acres

We are really enjoying this long holiday weekend and having lots of family time. Today we went to a little amusement park for toddlers called Kiddie Acres. It is small and looks like its been around since I was a toddler but was tons of fun! Quinn was a little reluctant at first but after she rode her first ride, she was hooked and couldn't wait to ride the next one! Here are some pictures:

This was so funny- once the ride really started going, Q put her hands on her head as if holding her pig tails!  When she got off, she said "windy!!".

SO much to be Thankful for

There really is not a day that passes that I don't count my blessings.  God has been so good to our family in many ways- here are some of our innumerable blessings:
  • Quinn- our sunshine, our life, our inspiration
  • A healthy marriage- my best friend is my husband
  • A supportive family- both immediate and extended
  • Edward Jones (Jaime's company) has been a blessing.  Jaime is such a hard worker and we are so, so, so blessed for this as it allows me to stay home with Quinn.
  • Our health.  Can't put in to words how thankful we are to be healthy and have a healthy, happy child
  • Wonderful friends.  We are surrounded by great friends who also have the sweetest little children.  Quinn loves all of her little friends!
There are so many more things to be thankful for- these are just the most important!

We had our Thanksgiving dinner at our house this year.  Mama Rose and Papa James joined us, it was a great time!  Here are a couple pictures of our Thanksgiving feast:
Mama Rose is reading Quinn's new favorite book "Knuffle Bunny Too"

Putting the last touches on our meal.  Yummy!
Quinn is a fan of the bird!
Watching a little football with Daddy.
Quinny loves playing with Papa James!

"Bye, Bye See Later!"

We joined the gym a few months ago and when we started, Quinn had a really hard time with me leaving her.  The first few times we went, she cried the entire time I was working out (which was only about 30 minutes).  Talk about stressful!  The whole time I was working out I was just so tense and worried about her- but I never gave up going.

And now I'm soooooo proud of how well she's doing!  Now she'll walk in by herself and turn to me and say "bye, bye see later!".  She interacts and plays with the other kids and teachers.  She doesn't cry one bit either!  It makes me feel so good to know that she knows she is okay without me and in the care of others.  And she has fun!  I work out for 45 minutes now and think I really don't have any excuse not to make it 1 hour.

Persistance pays off!

"I Lob Ooooooo"

"I Lob Oooooooo" means "I love you" in Quinn talk. We just get so tickled now that she is able to say it to us. She says this as Jaime is leaving for work and will continue to yell it as he is walking out of the house. She'll say this as I'm laying her down for her nap and keep saying it until she falls asleep. I love hearing "I Lob Ooooooo Mommy!" as she falls asleep. I thought it was funny that she even said it to the cashier today at HEB as we were leaving!

Morning Cup of Joe

Every day I make a smoothie for Quinn which she calls "zoonie". Since she doesn't drink milk, I've found that if I mix it in a blender with bananas and strawberries, she has no clue milk is in the smoothie and slams it down. Today I put it in one of Jaime's coffee cups so that she could continue playing while drinking her "zoonie". She kept saying "Yum! Drink coffee!!". I thought it was cute.

Book It

Just thought this was cute- Quinn LOVES reading and was nose deep in this book on our trip to Target this afternoon.

All Better Now

So happy to report that Quinn is flu free and back to her happy self! She was VERY excited to spend the night with her Mama Rose (Mose) and Papa James on Friday. She also had a grand time celebrating a birthday for one of her little playgroup buddies on Saturday. Just a great weekend. Here are a couple pics from the weekend:

P.S.- this time change is killing us! Quinn woke up this morning at 5:45 (normally 7:30ish) and was soooo tired around 10 am! She was so tired while we were getting groceries that she put her head down on the cart and just rested. When we got home she said "take a nap" and walked to her crib. Wow! Hopefully we'll get into the new routine soon!

Flu= The Gift That Keeps On Giving

After feeling great on Sunday and Monday, Quinn had a little visit of the yucky flu again this morning. We went to the pediatrician and learned that in little ones this is common- to be symptom free for a few days only to have it reappear for a few more. So looks like we're going to be home again for a few more days. I felt REALLY bad for Quinn this morning because it was yet another play date that we were getting ready for when she got sick. I had to give her a bath again after she got sick and this time she was crying and saying "No bath mommy! Mia, cookies!!". She was very sad that we weren't going to be able to play with her friends and that we wouldn't be eating any of the cookies that I made for the play date. This picture really sums up how she felt today- exhausted. Poor baby!
