Joshua is 23 months!!

Holy moly!  Joshua is almost two years and changing and growing by the minute.  He is really doing so much talking and is like a little parrot.  He especially likes to mimic Quinn and will basically say and do everything she does, it really is so cute.  He has recently started saying I love you "I wub ou" and thank you "dant ou".  One thing he has started doing is so cute when I'll ask "who wants crackers?"  He come running at me with hands in the air yelling "meeeeeee!!!".

He has so much fun taking the baskets from our entry bench and getting in and out of them.

One sure way to get through a shopping trip to Costco is by letting the little man have a lollipop.  I've learned since taking this picture that blue is not the way to go!

This picture melts my heart!  Joshua continues to love his sleep and still takes a nap in the afternoon for about 2-3 hours.  He absolutely loves his bear "ber" and has now started to sleep with Barney "Boby".

Many days are spent outside in this little car, pink and all!

Give Joshua a construction hat and a truck and he'll be happy for hours, literally!!  This picture was taken at the Austin Children's Museum where he had a blast in the construction zone.

Oh boy, again doing the same thing Quinn is- cooking in the play kitchen.

Instagram

Well I'm trying to keep with the times and  now have an Instagram account.  I've enjoyed playing around with the different settings and finishes you can add to your photos and love that I can do it all from my phone.  Here are the pictures I took this week:

This is one of my favorite photos of all time, a picture really tells a thousand words.  Quinn loves to see Jaime off on his runs and this photo really captures the moment.  Wish I could have this moment forever!

The Dog Days of Summer

In the thick of the July heat in Texas it can be difficult to keep two kiddos entertained, but we're managing just fine.

Quinn, Joshua and I went to a free kids movie at the Alamo Drafthouse.  Quinn was pumped to watch Happy Feet on the big screen and sat perfectly still for the entire show.  Joshua on the other hand was more interested in dumping the popcorn out, pushing the seats up and down, spilling Quinn's ketchup, and well you get the picture.  Boys will be boys!!

One morning this week I got up to go work out at 5:30 and noticed one of my tires was flat down to the rim.  So that day the kids and I had to get creative at home since we couldn't drive anywhere.  We stayed busy painting, playing with play-doh, decorating visors, swimming, and having movie night.

Meet "Red and Blue"

Quinn has been wanting a fish for a while now so she spent the last few weeks doing some chores around he house to earn money for one.  She was beyond excited to go pick her fish up from the pet store whom she named Red and Blue.  This picture really says a million words:

Trip to New Mexico

In the beginning of July we drove (you heard that right, yikes!) to New Mexico to escape the sweltering Texas heat and enjoy the coolness of the Angel Fire mountains.  Every two years my family has a reunion up there and we have yet to miss one. It is great to be around everyone and this year the kids had an absolute blast running free in the mountains.

We broke up our drive in two days and spent one night in Lubbock.  I was so excited when we saw a restaurant that I miss so much from New Mexico which is now also in Lubbock, Dion's, so naturally we had to eat there.  Here the kids are sporting their Dion's shirts

The next day we woke up an drove the rest of the way.  Here are our little snoozers:  We took Joshua's shirt off because he spilled something all over it and Quinn wanted to do the same:

Angel Fire is so peaceful and beautiful.  I snapped a photo of the scenery on one of my runs:

My dad, brother and Jaime built the kids a fort out of some logs next to our cabin:

Quinn and Joshua were so excited when their cousins Andrew and Olivia arrived.  Quinn stuck like glue to Olivia, it was cute!  Here the girls are ready for the 4th of July after spa time in the shower:

Joshua stuck to my brother, Uncle Eric.  It was the sweetest thing!

I didn't get too many photos of the actual reunion as you can imagine how busy I was trying to keep Joshua from wondering off in the wilderness or jumping off a pile of logs!  It was a fantastic time and we're already looking forward to the next one...

Joshua is 21 months!

Can you believe it?  This sweet little man will be two years old in just three short months!  If I thought time flew when we only had Quinn, multiply that by two because it only goes quicker with two children!  Joshua still continues to be our sweet little cuddler.  This past weekend at Jaime's regional meeting we left the kids in child care so we could attend a dinner and when we went to pick him up the girls working there couldn't believe how cuddly he was!  Melt my heart!

Some of the things Joshua is now doing.
•Saying more words now!  He loves saying "mama" all day long and loves to wave daddy as he leaves to work saying "bye" in his sweetest little voice.  Ball and Papa are two of his other fave words.
•Thinks anything and everything Quinn says and does is hilarious, especially while we are driving or sitting at the dinner table eating.
•Obsessed with any car or toy with wheels, loves to get down on the floor and watch the wheels roll.
•Likes jumping in the pool from the side or steps.
•Loves playing with the water hose outside or turning the tub faucet on inside.

Joshua is just such a sweet little man.  He is definitely more quiet than his older sister but enjoys being an observer.  He takes it all in!

La Cantera, San Antonio

Jaime has a regional meeting every June at a different central Texas location.  These are always great fun as the families are invited to join and enjoy the resorts for three or four days.  This year's meeting was at La Cantera in San Antonio and as always was a blast!  The kids had a great time enjoying the pools and jump house at the resort and especially Six Flags Fiesta Texas which is just next door to La Cantera.
